About STRIDD

BUILT BY
RUNNERS.

STRIDD was born from a simple frustration: the best training science in the world was locked away behind expensive mentoring and confusing spreadsheets. Daniels' VDOT tables, Lydiard's base-building philosophy, the Norwegian double-threshold protocol — these are proven, published methodologies. They should be within reach of every runner.

So we built STRIDD. A free-to-use training plan generator that puts 10 elite methodologies into the hands of every runner — from first-time 5K to 100-mile ultra. Build a plan in your browser, or sign in to save it, track your training, and connect with a mentor. Your plan is yours.

The engine behind STRIDD uses Riegel race-prediction formulas and Daniels VDOT pace tables to calculate personalised training zones. It applies periodisation principles — base, build, peak, taper — calibrated to your fitness level, weekly volume, and race distance. Every session has a physiological purpose.

STRIDD is free to use. We believe precision training science should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford a mentor. If you find value in it, share it with your running club.

THE METHODOLOGY

Every plan generated by STRIDD is grounded in peer-reviewed exercise physiology. We reference the work of Jack Daniels, Arthur Lydiard, Phil Maffetone, the Hansons brothers, and the research behind Norwegian threshold training. Race predictions use Pete Riegel's formula (T2 = T1 x (D2/D1)^1.06), validated across decades of marathon data.

Our training zones are derived from your VDOT equivalent — a single number that represents your current aerobic fitness. From this, STRIDD calculates seven pace zones: recovery, easy, long, threshold, interval, repetition, and race pace. Each methodology applies these zones differently, reflecting its unique training philosophy.
