Read this before you start training

STRIDD provides general training information for educational purposes. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.

Consult your doctor

Consult a doctor before beginning any new training program — particularly if you have a history of cardiovascular disease, musculoskeletal injury, metabolic conditions, are pregnant, are over 40 and new to running, or have not exercised regularly in the past 12 months.

Listen to your body

If you experience chest pain, dizziness, shortness of breath beyond normal exertion, joint pain, or any unusual symptoms during or after running, stop training and seek medical attention. Pain is a signal, not a personality test.

Injury content

Information about running injuries on this site describes common conditions and general management approaches. It does not diagnose your specific situation. A persistent injury needs to be assessed by a sports physiotherapist, sports medicine doctor, or qualified clinician — not by an article on the internet.

You take responsibility

By using STRIDD you acknowledge that running carries inherent physical risks and that you accept full responsibility for your training decisions and outcomes.
